About the Role
The AMP Hudson Valley is seeking a passionate, mission driven team-builder to fill the role of After School Program Director. In this role, you will have overall accountability for the growth, quality and success of the assigned after school program operation, its members, and staff. The primary responsibility of the Program Director is to manage the day-to-day operations in order to ensure that The AMP Hudson Valley quality standards and guidelines are met and that the program is meeting all contract requirements. You will foster an atmosphere of fun and learning; utilizing a broad range of musical, sensory and arts related activities where the concept of teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship can flourish and serve as a role model to youth.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-6:30pm
Requirements
Provide on-site support and programming to enrolled members
Develop and facilitate program and curriculum
Order and maintain program supplies and materials
Oversee program staff, program operations, services, and the implementation of programs and/or processes in order to provide services within established timeframes and in compliance.
Conduct staff performance evaluations and development plans in coordination with site director.
Provide weekly and monthly team meetings that encourages opportunities for team feedback and discussions about classroom management, lesson planning, writing prompts, and social emotional learning.
Communicate regularly with supervisor on program updates, progress, and needs.
Coordinate outreach to the community and presents on the program with the goal of actively recruiting participants.
Prepare a variety of documents and reports (e.g. attendance, daily activities, daily program content and program design, etc) for the purpose of internal and external reporting.
Provide weekly individual supervision to each staff member with feedback, goal setting, and assessment of competencies in the role.
Support all team members, including in-direct reports and provides feedback as needed.
Collaborate with site director to develop and implementl staff professional development workshops/seminars.
Collaborate with site director on program delivery to align with goals in relation to member achievement and performance.
Monitor and ensures all program compliance, including but not limited to, student registration, staff documents, ratios and attendance tracking
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the center and programs.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of effective musical, arts, and academic programming
Strong leader and team-builder
Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff and school partners
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, both in person and over the phone, applying tact and discretion as situations demand
Proficiency in Sawyer scheduling and tracking, Google Excel, Outlook, and Word
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Special Education (Master's Preferred)
Must have at least 1 year of staff supervision experience in special education youth care
Afterschool management experience preferred
All Program Directors are required to complete a mandatory Alison training
First Aid & CPR certification
